FOR ADULTS
Wednesday Night Series
Every Wednesday at 7pm something fun and educational.
Nov 5: Film Night: Join us as we screen the film What’s Cooking? This movie explores what happens when families come together for Thanksgiving. In a series of overlapping stories that involve four families (one Hispanic, one Vietnamese, one African American, one Jewish) all preparing for Thanksgiving dinner, the film turns food into a witty and warm exploration of cultures.
Nov 12: Veterans Day Tribute: Join us in honoring the men and women who have served in the armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The program will begin with a history of Veterans Day, information about heroes returning home, and biographies of local soldiers who gave their lives. The program will end with a tribute to all the war-dead from these conflicts in California.
Nov 19: “Talkin’ Turkey”: Ever wonder why some people like oysters in their dressing and others like fruit? Or what the difference is between stuffing and dressing? Or how vegetarians celebrate “Turkey Day”? Join us for a fun filled evening as we explore the history and culture behind our favorite Thanksgiving food.
