Wednesday Night Series
Every Wednesday at 7pm, there’s something fun and educational.
January 7: Film Night On the first Wednesday of each month we show an independent or foreign film that has been featured in a film festival but not yet been widely released in theaters. Join us this month for Under the Bombs, in French, from Lebanon, and the winner of four film festival awards including the Altre Visioni and Human Rights Film Award at the Venice International Film Festival.
January 14: Elsie’s Book Club
The second Wednesday of each month is dedicated to a book discussion. No need to have read the books to participate. This month we’ll discuss two titles written by President-Elect Barack Obama: The Audacity of Hope and Dreams from My Father.
Check out Elsie’s Book Club blog for announcements of upcoming title selections and tidbits to make your reading even more interesting: http://shplbooks.wordpress.com.
January 21: A Raw Food Demo Come learn about the raw food movement! What is raw food? What can you make with it at home? How does it taste? Join chef Brenda Hinton, of Rawsome Creations, for a discussion of what raw and living food is, along with a “non-cooking demonstration and tasting.
January 28: RLS: “If I’m Spared”
